Counselling, also referred to as psychotherapy or mental health therapy, addresses a variety of issues that people face. Some are more chronic, some situational. Some more individual, some relational. Counselling provides a safe and judgment-free space to process such problems and gain support in seeking solutions or relief from them. Approaches and techniques in counselling vary widely from one counsellor to another based on training and in how they perceive change to occur most effectively and efficiently. All counsellors at Grow Well Individual & Family Counselling have at least a graduate degree in the field of counselling, social work, or psychology and are registered/licensed with the appropriate regulatory college, designated on each staff profile (i.e., Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology). Some counsellors may have additional credentialing based on their individual scope of practice. Check out our website (www.growwellcounselling.ca/staff) for a list of counsellors and their approach to individual, couples, and family counselling.
